ClearCorrect

At Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry, we offer an orthodontic solution known as ClearCorrect. ClearCorrect is similar to another product we offer, Invisalign®, in that both are a series of clear, custom-fit, removable aligners that realign your teeth into the desired position. Both aligners are provided in sets, and require periodic follow-up appointments so that our dentists can monitor your progress. We believe ClearCorrect can benefit many of our patients in need of moderate orthodontic treatment, especially those who want to avoid traditional braces.

How Does ClearCorrect Work?

Before we can begin with the ClearCorrect process, we must determine if you are a suitable candidate for treatment. ClearCorrect may not be suitable for certain misalignment cases and complex bite problems. During a consultation visit, our dentists will perform a comprehensive exam and create records, including impressions, photographs, and x-rays to ensure ClearCorrect is right for you. Once we have developed a precise treatment plan, these records will be sent off to the ClearCorrect laboratory, where they will create a 3-D model of your teeth, and map out your treatment plan. Your custom aligners will be created using digital mapping and molding technology with incredible precision.

ClearCorrect treatment is typically broken down into four phases. Each phase involves a new set of aligner trays that are worn at three-week intervals. our dentists will advise you to wear the aligners for nearly 24 hours a day. They should only be taken out when you eat, drink anything besides water, and while brushing and flossing. The trays are designed to be virtually invisible and should not have an impact on your daily life. After you complete each set, you will notice results as your teeth begin to slowly adjust and align to the desired position.

Treatment time varies from patient to patient. Depending on your specific condition and the degree of misalignment, treatment can last anywhere from one to two years. To determine the best treatment option for you, set up a consultation appointment with our dentists!

ClearCorrect vs. Traditional Braces

ClearCorrect can be used to treat crowded teeth, gapped teeth, crooked teeth, overbites, and underbites. Many patients choose ClearCorrect over traditional braces when the situation is appropriate. Traditional metal braces are attached to the teeth and not removed until your treatment is complete. Braces, consisting of metal brackets, wires, and elastic bands make it difficult for you to perform routine oral hygiene tasks. They also interfere with your ability to eat and speak properly. Braces must be adjusted every four weeks to ensure the success of the treatment. Many patients also complain about pain or discomfort associated with the wires and brackets, especially after adjustments.

ClearCorrect aligners are custom fit to your teeth, minimizing or eliminating discomfort entirely. There is no need for adjustments. If an aligner is lost or broken, you can simply move on to the next one in the series. Traditional braces, on the other hand, must be repaired at the office immediately following a broken wire or bracket.
